Your class list never leaves your device
Student names are personal information. Most free classroom randomisers send whatever you paste to a server, where it sits in a database you have no visibility into.
These do not. Every tool runs inside your browser. When you press Save list, the roster is written to that browser’s own storage, on that one device. There is no account, no upload, and nothing on our side to lose, leak or hand over.
The trade-off is real and worth knowing: a list saved on the classroom PC will not appear on your phone. Use Copy share link to move a list between your own devices — the link carries the list itself, so treat it like the roster and don’t post it publicly.
Using them on a projector
Every tool has a Fullscreen button. The result text scales up for the back row and the spinning wheel becomes the centre of the screen. Press Escape to come back.
Turn Sound on so students hear the result land while they are still looking at their notebooks. It sounds trivial; it saves you repeating the name three times.
There is a reason to project rather than pick on your own screen. Cold calling feels arbitrary to students until the mechanism is visible. When the class watches the wheel stop, the fairness is not something you have to defend — they saw it happen.
Calling on everyone exactly once
In the student picker, Remove each pick from the list is on by default. A student who has been called is taken out of the pool, so you can work through the whole class without three people being asked twice and four never being asked at all.
- Replace the sample roster with your class, one student per line. Surname first works well for large classes.
- Press Save list. It is now in this browser for the rest of the year.
- Each lesson, press Load list to restore the full class and start a fresh round.
For Filipino classrooms
The letter generator includes the Abakada set, so pupils are never handed a letter that is not in the alphabet they are learning. The word picker handles accented characters and hyphenated words correctly, including in share links.
Nothing here assumes a class of 25. The team generator handles 60 names without complaint, and the student picker holds up to 5,000.
Common questions
Is my class list uploaded anywhere?
No. It is processed in your browser and, if you press Save, stored only in that browser. There is no server copy and no account system. You can confirm this yourself by opening your browser’s network tab while you use a tool — you will see no requests.
Can two tools share the same saved roster?
Yes. The student picker and the team generator can read the same saved list, so you paste the class once and use it for both.
Will it work without internet during the lesson?
Once the page has loaded, yes. Nothing sends a request when you press the button, so a dropped connection mid-lesson does not stop the tool.
Is it free for school use?
Yes, including on a school projector, in a computer lab, or shared with your department. No licence and no attribution required.
Can you add a tool I need?
Possibly — send the request. Teacher requests get built first, because they are usually specific enough to build well.
